The Block

This summer we had the privilege of spending 2 weeks with our 6yr old grandson “Brantley”, we had some rainy days and wanted to take him somewhere fun to play with other kids, after some research we decided to go to a place called The Block (just a short 30min. drive from Byrd’s Branch Campground) and it did not disappoint!

The building with bright blue, green and yellow colors, has some raw brick accents & a graffiti look makes for a cool experience.

They have a large trampoline area with a separate dodge ball spot, a foam pit with a battle beam, a Ninja obstacle course (this was for bigger kids), an arcade with lots of great games, a skating rink, and Gellyball tag arena (it’s something like laser tag but with gel pellet guns), and a café with snacks and drinks, also coming soon a rock-climbing wall! The prices were great, and the staff was pleasant, we had a fantastic time, and it was a great way to spend a rainy day!

Cooking at Camp

Easy Pasta Salad
Ingredients

• 16 oz box colored rotini pasta
• 16 oz bottle Italian dressing
• 1 c Colby jack cheese cubed
• 1 can black olives
• 1/2 pkg mini pepperoni
• parmesan cheese to taste
• chopped tomatoes optional
• chopped cucumbers optional

Directions

1. Cook pasta as directed on package.
2. Drain and rinse with cold water.
3. Add desired amount of olives, cheese and pepperoni to the pasta.
4. Add any optional ingredients you choose. Example; Broccoli & Cauliflower.
5. Pour at least half of the Italian dressing on and mix well.
6. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours. Pour additional dressing. (As much as you want) before serving. ENJOY!
