Summer Starts Here

Apr 22, 2026

You can feel it… longer days, warmer nights, and that unmistakable excitement in the air— camping season is in full swing.

May is the perfect mix of peaceful spring camping and the start of summer fun. Whether you’re sneaking away for a quiet weekend or gearing up for a busy holiday, there’s no better place to be. 🌿

Why May Is a Camper Favorite

Before the peak summer rush, May brings some of the best camping of the year:

  • Warm (but not too hot) days
  • Cool, comfortable nights for sleeping
  • Beautiful green scenery everywhere you look
  • The perfect balance of relaxation and activity

If you’ve been waiting to book your favorite spot… now’s the time!

Celebrating Mother’s Day at the Campground

There’s something extra special about slowing down and spending Mother’s Day outdoors.
Simple ways to make it meaningful:

  • Start the day with coffee by the campfire ☕
  • Take a peaceful nature walk together
  • Cook a special breakfast or campfire brunch
  • Let mom relax—no planning, no rushing, just fresh air and family time Sometimes the best gift is just being together… without distractions.

Memorial Day Weekend – More Than Just the Start of Summer

Memorial Day weekend is one of the most loved times at the campground—and for good reason. It marks the unofficial start of summer, filled with laughter, campfires, and time with the people we love. But it’s also a time to pause and remember those who gave everything for our freedom. As you enjoy the weekend:

  • Take a quiet moment of reflection
  • Share a story or teach kids the meaning of the day
  • Fly a flag or simply honor the spirit of gratitude We’re honored to spend this meaningful weekend with our campground community.

👉 And as always—be sure to book early, as sites fill quickly!

Campfire Season Is Back

There’s nothing like ending the day around the fire. A few fun ideas to mix it up:

  • Try a campfire nacho skillet (chips, cheese, and your favorite toppings in foil)
  • Host a simple “campfire dessert night” with different s’mores combinations
  • Share stories, play music, or just enjoy the quiet These are the moments everyone remembers. 🎒

Quick Tips for a Smooth Trip

A little prep goes a long way:

  • Double-check reservations and arrival times
  • Pack bug spray and sunscreen
  • Bring extra firewood or check availability on-site
  • Plan a mix of activity and downtime

Campground Reminder

As we get busier, let’s keep things enjoyable for everyone:

  • Follow quiet hours
  • Keep campsites clean and tidy
  • Be respectful of neighbors and shared spaces

May always feels like the beginning of something special. New memories, familiar faces returning, and the campground starting to buzz with life again. We’re so grateful you’re part of it. Here’s to campfires, laughter, and the start of an amazing summer

Cooking at Camp:

Shrimp Boil Foil Packets

Shrimp Boil Foil Packets

Ingredients:

  • 1 ear of corn cut into 8 pieces
  • 1 medium zucchini sliced thick
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ lb uncooked shrimp
  • 2 andouille sausage
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • Fresh parsley chopped

Instructions:

  1. Tear an 18” piece of heavy-duty foil for each packet, along with a 16” sheet of parchment paper for each. Layer the parchment paper on top of the foil.
  2. Divide the corn, zucchini, minced garlic, shrimp, spices, and butter between the two sheets of foil.
  3. To form the packets, bring one of the short edges of the foil to meet the other, then crimp around all edges to seal.
  4. Cook the packets on a grill (or the grill grate over your campfire) for 8 minutes, flipping occasionally.
  5. Remove from the grill and let cool slightly. Open the packets carefully – they will be full of hot steam. Top with fresh parsley and enjoy.
