Sanders Ridge Winery and Vineyard
Sanders Ridge Winery and Vineyard is a spectacular place. As you pulling down the drive you get to see the beautiful, lush green vines at work, nestled in the woods you see the cabin style tasting room that gives a warm and inviting feel! Walking into the building the first thing I noticed was a beautiful stone fireplace and a string of lights canvasing over this huge room with plenty of seating. Two lovely ladies greeted us, Jennifer and Morgan were bubbly, kind, and eager to help us. We decided to do a flight where you pick 5 wines from a large selection of dries and sweets. They also had a food menu that was pretty impressive. We went with some spinach dip to start and finished with a handmade cheese cake that was so delicious.
We went out to the wrap around outdoor porch to enjoy our tasting, overlooking the woods and a nice size pond where you can watch the fish and turtles play. We were there on a Tuesday, so it was quiet, only a couple of others were there. We enjoyed our wine (my favorite was the “Classic ’57” off-dry Red) and the peaceful nature atmosphere.
What’s nice to know about Sanders Ridge is that they are open all year and daily, are children and dog friendly, and they host weddings and other special events with a cute little cabin onsite for rent. We had such a wonderful experience and can’t wait to visit them again!

Cooking at Camp
Dutch Oven Monkey Bread
Ingredients
- rolls of Pillsbury biscuits

Directions
- Spray Dutch oven with cooking spray. I would recommend lining the oven with foil and coating with cooking spray.
- Chop biscuits into quarters. Mix sugar and cinnamon in plastic bag. Drop each quarter into bag and shake to coat well.
- Place the mixture in the Dutch oven.
- In a separate pan, melt the butter and pour over biscuits.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. Check around 30 minutes to see if the dough is done.
