  • A Pumpkin is a fruit
  • Pumpkin is from the Greek word “pepon” which means “big melon”
  • The first Jack-o-lantern was actually made from a turnip
  • Pumpkins contain about 500 seeds
  • The world’s heaviest pumpkin weighed 2,624lbs
  • Every part of a pumpkin is edible including its stem, but the same kinds we carve are different then the ones we eat, there are about 45 different types of pumpkins.
  • The most popular pumpkin foods are pumpkin: bread, pies, cookies, latte and pancakes
  • Best pumpkin craft is pumpkin carving. Once you’ve picked the perfect pumpkin of your choice, cut the top off & scoop out all the seeds, you can use stencils, drilling tools, paint, glitter there’s no wrong way to create your pumpkin, make it scary or happy as long as you are having fun!

Pumpkin Pie Dump Cake
Pumpkin Pie Dump CakeYou need the following:

  • yellow cake mix
  • lemon-lime soda
  • pumpkin puree
  • evaporated milk
  • eggs
  • pumpkin pie spice
  • optional: pecans

Directions:

  1. prepare the pumpkin pie filling and pour it into a lined Dutch oven
  2. layer with the cake mix
  3. slowly pour the soda over the cake mix
  4. top with pecans
  5. bake
  6. serve
