Fall has officially arrived at the campground!

Sep 25, 2025

Hello friends,
Fall has officially arrived at the campground! The crisp mornings, cozy campfires, and colorful leaves make this one of the most magical times of the year to be outside. Here’s what’s happening this month and how you can make the most of your October camping adventures.

🌳 Fall Foliage

Update The trees are putting on a show! Around the campground, you’ll see bursts of gold, crimson, and orange. The Mountain to Sea Trail is a perfect spot for a fall walk or a photo op with the family. Don’t forget your camera—you won’t want to miss this year’s colors.

🦉 Wildlife Watch

October is a busy season for wildlife:

  • Squirrels are gathering acorns, darting here, darting there and everywhere around the trees and rustling in the fallen leaves.
  • Migrating birds are passing through—keep an eye out for geese overhead and songbirds in the mornings.
  • Deer are more active at dusk and dawn. Please remember to drive carefully and keep a safe distance when spotting wildlife.

🎃 Pumpkin Recipe Corner

What’s fall without pumpkin? Here are two easy camp-friendly ideas to try:

Campfire Pumpkin Seeds

  • Rinse and dry pumpkin seeds.
  • Toss with a little olive oil, salt, and seasoning of your choice (cinnamon sugar, ranch mix, or chili powder are great).
  • Roast in a foil packet over the fire until crispy.

Pumpkin Mug Cake

  • Mix 3 Tbsp pumpkin puree, 2 Tbsp flour, 1 Tbsp sugar, 1 Tbsp milk, and a pinch of pumpkin spice.
  • Microwave in a mug for 90 seconds (or bake in a small foil pan over the fire).
  • Top with whipped cream for a cozy treat!
