We love staying here because Larena & Dwaine are always so hospitable, always welcoming. The campground is small (and we like it that way) & quiet. The sites are more spacious than usual. The water spouts are heated, so it’s not mandatory to disconnect in colder weather. The bath house makes you feel like you’ve walked into a bed & breakfast bathroom. The facilities are well maintained. The communal fire pit includes comfy chairs with lights for those later evenings & cornhole boards. We love the frisbee golf course, as it takes you around the entire grounds. A short walk to Carter Falls hiking trail, or to Grassy Creek Vineyards trail in the other direction. Another hiking trail takes you alongside the back of the campground where the creek winds. Lots of fire pits on the other side. We love waking up in the mornings to hear the cows out & the roosters crowing, among the silence of the early morning campground. A quick drive to downtown Elkin to explore the city & all it has to offer is always a must for us.
