Byrd’s Branch Campground

Byrd’s Branch Campground is located in the Foothills of Elkin, North Carolina. With 14 RV sites and 4 tent sites it offers a relaxing getaway the whole family can enjoy!

The back-in sites are nestled up to a flowing creek that runs throughout the campground with large, shaded backyard areas, with your fire pits located along the creek, a favorite for the kids! The pull-thru sites are wide and spacious enough to accommodate all big rig sizes, with a nice open play area adjacent that offers corn hole and a community fire pit area perfect for social gatherings. The tent sites are located on the opposite side of the R.V. area with private, spacious sites. All are well shaded and located along the creek.

The playground in the tent area has something for all ages – tetherball, slide and swing set, and a playhouse for smaller children. You’ll want to try your luck with our new 9-hole disc golf course that has become a favorite by many and easily addictive!

The Country Store/Office has camping supplies, ice, firewood, gifts, snacks and more with a clean, private bath house and laundry facility conveniently located behind the Country Store.

With the Mountain-to-Sea Trail that runs through the campground you can spend the day hiking to beautiful Carter Falls or experience the Enchanted Forest that leads to Grassy Creek Winery you will not be disappointed.

Testimonials

“What a beautiful Campground in every way! It’s a small Campground and very quiet. They have outdoor games to play, a full stocked camp store and the grounds are immaculate! The owners and everyone in the area we encountered are SO friendly. The sites with full hookup are back-ins and back up to a little stream. The fire pits are located there and it’s so nice at night. There’s a lot to do in the area: hiking (Stone Mountain, Pilot Mountain, Carter Falls that you can walk to from the Campground and many, many more); wineries (too many to even begin the list); the town of Elkin is so much fun to explore with its shops, restaurants and the Reeves Theater; Mt. Airy (about a 40-minute drive). All-in-all, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.”

We love staying here because Larena & Dwaine are always so hospitable, always welcoming. The campground is small (and we like it that way) & quiet. The sites are more spacious than usual. The water spouts are heated, so it’s not mandatory to disconnect in colder weather. The bath house makes you feel like you’ve walked into a bed & breakfast bathroom. The facilities are well maintained. The communal fire pit includes comfy chairs with lights for those later evenings & cornhole boards. We love the frisbee golf course, as it takes you around the entire grounds. A short walk to Carter Falls hiking trail, or to Grassy Creek Vineyards trail in the other direction. Another hiking trail takes you alongside the back of the campground where the creek winds. Lots of fire pits on the other side. We love waking up in the mornings to hear the cows out & the roosters crowing, among the silence of the early morning campground. A quick drive to downtown Elkin to explore the city & all it has to offer is always a must for us.”

“We return year after year and each year bring more friends with us and they love it as much as we do. Close to the wineries for the girls close to the fishing for the boys. Lots of hiking trails. There is a small disc golf course on the property as well as several places other than your campsite to gather and hang out. Very clean, quiet and relaxing. Elkin is beautiful!”
